Ingredients to make a blueberry pie smoothie
You will only need a few handfuls of ingredients to make this delicious dessert like a breakfast smoothie. Here is what you’ll need:
Blueberries – I have used a combination of fresh and frozen blueberries because I just love the texture and taste and color when you combine both. Feel free to choose only fresh or only frozen ones. Using only frozen ones is best for the winters when fresh blueberries are out of season.
Banana - I have added frozen banana chunks to creamy thickness. For a thick texture, I would recommend using frozen bananas only if you are using fresh blueberries.
Oats - Adding oats to this smoothie adds structure to this smoothie and gives it a pie-like taste. I have used rolled oats here, but you can also use quick or instant oats in this recipe. You can also swap oats with graham crackers.
Yogurt – I used plain non-fat greek yogurt for making this smoothie. Feel free to use full-fat greek yogurt here.
Milk – Unsweetened vanilla almond milk tastes best in this smoothie. However, you can also use regular milk. Just add some vanilla extract if using plain dairy milk.
Sweetener – I have added honey because my little one prefers honey over maple syrup. You can use maple syrup or agave nectar here.
Flavors - I used about 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Adding cinnamon to this smoothie gives it a pie-like flavor.
