2 ingredient no bake chocolate banana cake topped with hazelnuts and dark chocolate shavings

Ingredients

  • Dark chocolate – It is the star ingredient for this recipe, so make sure to choose a high-quality bar for the best flavor. I have used 70% sugar free dark chocolate, but you can also use sweetened dark chocolate depending on your preference.

  • Bananas – I used 2 large ripe bananas (about 250 grams). They add natural sweetness and creatines to this cake. Plus, they are the base of this healthy chocolate dessert

  • Flavoring (optional) – I used a bit of cinnamon powder to flavor this cake. Adding cinnamon is entirely optional here. You can also add a pinch of sea salt to enhance the cocoa flavors or use a splash of vanilla or almond extract.

  • For Garnish (optional) – I have garnished it with dark chocolate shavings for the elegant finish, and toasted hazelnut to add crunch and make it feel extra special. You can also garnish this cake with banana slices, but garnishing the cake is optional.

How to Make the 2-Ingredient No-Bake Chocolate Banana Cake

_Making this homemade chocolate cake is straightforward.  _

  • To make this cake, just melt the chocolate in a microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring after each one. Alternatively, use a double boiler over low heat.

  • Add flavoring if using and mix again.

  • After that, peel and slice ripe bananas, then blend them directly into the melted chocolate until silky smooth using a hand blender.

  • Line a small cake pan or tin with parchment paper. Pour in the chocolate-banana mixture and tap lightly to release air bubbles.

  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight until firm. For faster settings, you can freeze it for one hour, then transfer it to the fridge.

  • Once set, unmold the cake and garnish with chocolate shavings and toasted nuts. Slice and serve chilled.

  • Your delicious and easy no-bake chocolate banana cake is ready, that’s both decadent and healthy. It’s silky, fudgy, and just the right amount of sweetness.

Tips & Tricks to Make the Best No Bake Chocolate Banana Cake

  1. Banana: Make sure to use ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and creamy texture. Bananas with brown spots are ideal, as they are softer, sweeter, and make the best chocolate cake texture.

  2. Chocolate: Use high-quality dark chocolate. For maximum health benefits, use 70% (or more) dark chocolate to make this a truly luxurious dark chocolate dessert.

  3. Melting: For melting the chocolate, you can use a microwave for short intervals or use a double boiler.

  4. Chilling: To set the cake, let it chill for at least 4 hours or even overnight for the best fudgy, moist chocolate cake texture.

  5. Sugar Free: For a sugar-free chocolate cake, use unsweetened dark chocolate or naturally sweetened chocolate bars.

  6. Slicing: If for some reason, your cake is not slicing neatly, dip your knife in hot water and wipe it dry before cutting for clean slices.

  7. Serving: Keep it chilled until serving, as this no oven chocolate cake tastes best when cold and firm.

So, the next time you have ripe bananas sitting on your counter, skip the banana bread and make this easy, flourless chocolate cake instead. You will love every fudgy, melt-in-your-mouth bite of dairy-free chocolate cake.
