As it’s a Monday, it’s gonna be a light day for me, in all ways including food.
I am not really in the mood of having heavy breakfast this morning. Well, there are two reasons :
- I ate so much delish and heavy food during this weekend. Ya, I know some of us do that during the weekends. But now my stomach is screaming for some light food, or no food at all. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so I cannot skip it, and that means no matter what, I have to have it.
- It’s Monday, and on Mondays I also run out of time like most of you. So making a breakfast on Monday morning is kinda tough job.
Therefore, quicker, easier, filler, and the healthier breakfast options are all I need on such days. And whenever I am not in a mood of having breakfast at all then a simple flavorful and delicious smoothie comes in. A smoothie really helps me to get me in some good mood. So a smoothie fits well with all the above requirements.
And that’s why I am gonna make my Monday a smoothie day. And this time I’ve come up with an awesome Chai smoothie combo.
And the smoothie recipe I am sharing today is ‘Spiced Chai Pumpkin Smoothie’. I know even the name itself is so exotic. Smoothie + chai. What else one would need for an awesome breakfast. Right?

I combined a few fall-tastic ingredients to flavor this spiced chai pumpkin smoothie. For sweetening I added honey.
I boiled the milk with tea leaves and spice mix. Blended this tea mixture with pumpkin puree, honey and vanilla. Feel free to use regular sugar or maple syrup instead of honey. Add some ice. Finally, it’s time for Cheers!
Let’s learn to make Spiced Chai Pumpkin Smoothie.
Heat a saucepan. Add milk, chai and spice mix to it. Bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it boil on low heat for about 2 minutes.
Remove from heat. Strain and let it cool down completely. Add pumpkin puree, chai mixture, honey, vanilla to a jar, and then blend for 30 seconds or until smooth.
Add ice cubes to the glasses. Pour smoothie into glasses. Drizzle some caramel sauce. Sprinkle cinnamon, peanuts and pearls. Enjoy.
- honey - 2 tbsp or as per taste
- pumpkin puree - 2 tbsp
- 2.5% milk - 1½ glass
- black tea leaves - 1 tbsp or 2 bags
- chai spice (1/4 tsp cinnamon + ¼ tsp ginger +1/4 tsp cardamom + ¼ tsp cloves) - 1 tbsp
- vanilla extract - ½ tsp
- ice cubes
- caramel sauce
- roasted peanuts (optional)
- pearls sprinkle (optional)
