I told you in my last post that it’s all white here. It’s snowing continuously day and night since last few days. Even though snow plowers on streets are working 24/7, but there is still so much of snow everywhere. I love nature’s pure white beauty and that love inspired me to share something as pretty as white snow.
After seeing so much white stuff since last week, I went a little further and made cream cheese lemon mousse twice already.
But why did I have to make it twice?
Well my camera hanged during the process while shooting the first time I made this. I didn’t realize this while shooting. Later when I found about this, I just couldn’t let go of the partly recorded video by then, and that pushed me to make an entire video again. Surely for shooting the video again, I had to make this mousse again.
We finished the entire batch of 4 servings on the same day when I made it. So I didn’t hesitate in making it again just the next day, because I knew that my family will polish it off in no time. And that thought itself cheered me up.
Calories are much needed for warmth during winter:
I know there are some calories in any dessert, but this is worth every bite! This is especially true in this cold weather when we all need some energy to keep ourselves warm, moving, and charged.
No bake desserts:
The tag NO-BAKE itself makes it the best ever kind of dessert. Even though it’s super cold, but I couldn’t say no to a chilled mousse. Well, I certainly can’t say no to chilled desserts (read as any desserts).
It’s all worth the wait:
If you are like me then it would be really hard for you to hold yourself back from eating it right out of the mixing bowl. But you will have to wait until it’s completely chilled. Only then you will get that light, fluffy mousse texture.
Trust me — that wait would make this dessert more desirable and you will enjoy this much more. It’s super simple and there’s no baking involved. Even your kids can make it with your help. I could say this from my personal experience as my little one did it with just a little help. Here is how it’s made:
Bring the cream cheese at room temperature and whisk with powdered sugar and vanilla using an electric mixer until it is light and soft. Then whip the whipping cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Add lemon zest, and lemon juice, and fold gently.
The lemon zest and lemon juice provide a wonderful citrus flavor to this mousse. Easy, simple, elegant and delicious mousse is ready to serve.
