» How to make Mushroom Tikki //

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan.
  2. Once hot, add onions and sauté for 2 minutes.
  3. Add chopped mushrooms and sauté for 4 minutes or till all the moisture gets evaporated. Now, add green chilies, chaat masala, cumin powder, red chili powder, salt, and garam masala powder.
  4. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add gram flour, and mix well. Cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  6. Add mashed potatoes and raisins. Mix well until combined.
  7. Shape into 8-10 lemon sized balls.
  8. Roll the balls in semolina, and press them slightly to shape into patties.
  9. Heat 4 tablespoons oil in a pan.
  10. Once hot, arrange tikkis in the pan.
  11. Shallow fry the patties over medium-low heat from both sides till they turn golden brown.
  12. Serve Mushroom Tikki hot with your favorite chutney or ketchup, and a cup of tea. Enjoy!


  1. Semolina is used for a crispy coating. You can also roll tikkis in breadcrumbs.
