RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

» Make Garlic Butter //

  1. To begin making garlic butter, add softened butter, finely chopped garlic, and chopped parsley to a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix everything well to combine. Garlic butter is ready. Keep it aside.

» Assemble Chilli Cheese Toast //

  1. Arrange 4 bread slices on a board or a plate.
  2. Smear a generous amount of garlic butter on both sides of a bread slice using a butter knife or a spoon. Repeat the same with the rest of the bread slices.
  3. Sprinkle the chopped red chili over the buttered bread slices. (You can adjust the amount of the chilies according to your preference.)
  4. Also, sprinkle some chopped garlic on top. (This step is optional.)
  5. Now top buttered bread slices with grated mozzarella cheese making sure the bread slices are entirely covered with cheese.
  6. Then sprinkle with some chili flakes and some black pepper powder on top. (Also sprinkle salt, if using)

» Bake Chilli Cheese Toast //

  1. Preheat the oven at 200°C / 400°F in broil settings for 10 minutes. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange prepared bread slices on it. Place the baking tray on the top shelf, and broil for 1-2 minutes or until cheese melts and have golden spots on top. Make sure to keep an eye on the toasts while they are getting baked. Alternatively, you can bake them in the middle rack for 2-3 minutes on each side or until cheese is melted and bread slices are crisp and toasted.
  3. Once done remove and allow it to cool slightly before slicing.
  4. Cut toasts into desired shapes. Sprinkle with some chopped parsley. Serve perfectly toasted chili cheese bread hot as a quick snack or starter.

» Alternatively, Cook Chilli Cheese Toast In A Pan //

  1. Heat a thick-bottomed over low heat.
  2. Place the prepared bread slices on the preheated skillet.
  3. Cover the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes over low heat or until the cheese melts. When cooking in a pan, you would not get the golden spots on top, but the bread gets toast well.
  4. Once toasted, take them out of the pan.
  5. Place them on a board and slice.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite ketchup or chutney.

RECIPE NOTES

  1. I do not add any additional salt to this toast because the cheese and salted butter has a wonderful saltiness themselves. However, if you want you can add some salt to your taste.
  2. I have added chopped parsley to softened butter, but you can also add chopped coriander leaves.
