RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

» Prepare Chaat Dahi:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together plain yogurt, sugar, and black or rock salt until well combined. Set aside.

» Prepare Avocado Chaat:

  1. Slice avocados in half, and dice them. Use slightly firm avocados here as they keep their shape very well. In a large mixing bowl, add chickpeas (you can also use soaked and boiled chickpeas here), diced avocados, chopped cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, green chili, kiwis, boiled potatoes, chopped cilantro, and sliced grapes.

» Add Flavorful Elements:

  1. Drizzle with chaat dahi, sweet tamarind chutney, and green mint coriander chutney over the mixture. Top with roasted peanuts and Nylon sev on top for a crunchy texture. Sprinkle roasted cumin powder, chaat masala powder, black salt or regular salt, and red chili powder according to your taste preferences. Garnish with additional chopped cilantro/coriander leaves.

» How to Serve Avocado Chaat:

  1. Arrange cream crackers or papdi on a serving plate. Serve the Avocado Chaat immediately to enjoy its freshness and flavors. You can enjoy it as it is or spoon the prepared Avocado Chaat over the crackers or papdi and enjoy canapes with avocado chaat.

RECIPE NOTES

  1. When making this chaat, make sure to use ripe yet firm avocados. They add a smooth, yet buttery texture to this chaat recipe.
  2. I have used red chili powder, cumin powder, chaat masala powder, and black salt to make this chaat. You can also use other spices like mint powder or ground black pepper. Customize spice levels to suit your preference.
  3. Feel free to add any of your favorite salad vegetables to make this chaat rich in fiber and nutrients.
  4. I have used canned and drained chickpeas to make this chaat, but you can also use soaked and boiled chickpeas.
