RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

» How to make Thandai Frappe

  1. In a blender, combine the ice cubes, thandai powder, milk, sugar, saffron-soaked milk, vanilla ice cream, and rose water. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the drink into serving glasses. It would make 3 large or 6 small servings. Top with whipped cream, chopped pistachios, and dried rose petals. If desired. drizzle with some saffron-soaked milk. Serve immediately and enjoy chilled.

RECIPE NOTES

  1. You can find thandai masala powder at an Indian grocery store or make your own by grinding together almonds, cashews, pistachios, cardamom, fennel seeds, poppy seeds, and rose petals. If you're making your own thandai powder, make sure to use fresh ingredients and grind them fine to get the best flavor and texture.
  2. If you want a thicker consistency, then increase the number of ice cubes or reduce the amount of milk.
  3. Feel free to adjust the sweetness of the frappe to your liking by adding more or less sugar. You can also avoid adding sugar completely.
  4. If you want to make this recipe vegan, then swap milk with plant-based milk such as almond milk or oat milk. And vanilla ice cream with vegan ice cream.
  5. You can easily double or triple this recipe if you are making it for a crowd. Making this recipe in a larger batch is very simple, just double or triple the ingredients and blend in batches.
