RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat 3 tablespoons oil in a pan on a medium heat.
  2. Add asafetida, cumin seeds and sauté for few seconds.
  3. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and dry mango powder. Stir well.
  4. Add diced potatoes and stir well until the spices coat the potatoes well.
  5. Add salt and sauté for a minute.
  6. Add 2 tablespoons chopped coriander and water.
  7. Stir well and cook covered for 3 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and set aside. Jeera Aloo is ready.
  9. Heat a pan and brush with oil.
  10. Place a tortilla and spread jeera aloo over it.
  11. Sprinkle some chopped onions, and chopped coriander. Sprinkle with some chaat masala powder.
  12. Add about 2 tablespoons of cheese on top of jeera aloo.
  13. Cover with another tortilla. Press down on the tortilla with the back of a spatula for a few seconds to allow the cheese to melt.
  14. Toast from both sides until the tortillas become golden and lightly crisp.
  15. Slice into quarters.
  16. Serve hot with sour cream or greek yogurt.
