RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

» How to Make Iced Matcha Latte

  1. If using a bamboo matcha whisk, soak it in warm water for 1-2 minutes to soften the bristles.
  2. Place a chawan and fine sifter on a kitchen scale. Add 4 g matcha powder and sift it directly into the bowl.
  3. Pour in 60 ml hot water at around 70-80°C. Avoid boiling water.
  4. Whisk quickly in a W or M motion until the matcha is completely smooth and frothy, with a fine layer of foam on top.
  5. Fill a glass almost completely with ice. Pour in 200 ml milk of your choice.
  6. Add 1 tablespoon maple syrup, if using. Finally, pour the smooth, frothy matcha over the iced milk, stir, and enjoy.

RECIPE NOTES

  1. For a milder iced matcha latte, use 3-3½ g matcha.
  2. You can use almond milk, oat milk, soy milk, cashew milk, coconut milk, or dairy milk.
  3. For an unsweetened matcha latte, simply leave out the maple syrup.
