RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

» How to Make Paneer Bhurji Dry

  1. Heat oil or butter in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  2. Add onions and sauté them till they turn golden in color.
  3. Once the onions become translucent, add ginger-garlic paste and chopped green chilies.
  4. Let them sauté for a minute.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and sauté for 2 minutes.
  6. Now add in the turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder and salt to taste.
  7. Stir well and saute them well together for 1 minute.
  8. Add in water or milk and stir well.
  9. Now add green peas and bell pepper.
  10. Stir well and cook covered on medium heat for 5 minutes. Keep stirring occasionally.
  11. Remove the lid and add grated paneer and garam masala powder.
  12. Stir well and cook covered on medium heat for 5 minutes. Keep stirring occasionally.
  13. Remove the lid and turn off the heat.
  14. Add chopped coriander leaves and stir well.
  15. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and lemon wedges chili.
  16. Serve hot with toast, paratha, roti or naan.

RECIPE NOTES

  1. I made this using rapeseed oil, but you can make it in butter or ghee to make it richer.
  2. I added water to this bhurji, but you can replace the same amount of water with milk.
  3. I am making this dhaba style Punjabi paneer bhurji, that?s why I added bell pepper aka capsicum, but you can omit this.
