RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

» Date Milkshake

  1. Add milk to a blender jar (you can use any milk of your choice). Also, add 6-7 pitted dates, ground cinnamon, and ground cardamom. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy. You can serve it as milkshake. Or make warm date milk with it.6

» How to Make Date Milk (Khjoor Ka Doodh)

  1. To make warm date milk, add prepared date milkshake to a saucepan or pot. Stir well and heat on the medium heat. Bring it to a boil. Once it comes to a boil, turn the heat to low. Then add 2-3 pitted chopped dates and mix well. Simmer for 7-8 minutes or until fragrant and flavorful.
  2. Transfer the date milk to a jug. Pour hot date milk into serving glasses or mugs. Sprinkle with saffron stands and chopped pistachios. This step is optional. Serve it immediately with any of your favorite snacks, or drink it warm before bedtime.

RECIPE NOTES

  1. I like the chunks of dates in the hot milk, that?s why I added 3-4 chopped dates to the milk while boiling. You can also strain the milk, if you don?t like the fibrous dates in the milk.
  2. This milk recipe has cinnamon and cardamom. If you like hot flavors then you can also add a pinch of ground black pepper powder, ginger powder, nutmeg powder, or clove powder.
  3. Feel free to make some adjustments to make date milk more suitable for your taste buds.
  4. You can easily double or triple this recipe if you are serving dates milk to a large group.
