RECIPE INGREDIENTS

» For Avocado Salad

RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

» Prepare the Veggies

  1. Peel and thinly slice the red onion. Rinse the slices under cold water if you prefer a milder flavor. Dice the English cucumber. Quarter or halve the grape tomatoes. Peel 1 garlic clove and slice a lemon. Cut the avocado in half and dice it.

» Make Avocado Salad

  1. Add all the veggies to a large plate or bowl. Add minced garlic, chopped mint and cilantro, dried oregano, extra virgin olive oil, freshly ground black pepper, and salt. Gently toss the ingredients to ensure an even coating of the flavors. Next, add almond flakes and chili flakes for a spicy kick according to your preference. Drizzle with freshly squeezed lemon juice and toss again.

» Serving

  1. If desired, sprinkle some more almond flakes over the salad for a nutty crunch. Your creamy avocado salad is ready. Serve immediately as a refreshing side dish, appetizer, or light lunch. Or chill it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, allowing the salad to marinate and the ingredients to absorb the delicious seasoning.

RECIPE NOTES

  1. Since we are not making a separate dressing, it is advised to toss the salad properly to ensure that all ingredients are well-coated.
  2. As avocados are the main ingredient of this recipe, it is highly recommended to use organic or farm-best quality ripe avocados for the best taste experience.
  3. You can also add other vegetables like corn, bell peppers, spinach, or kale for a different-tasting salad.
  4. Adjust the amount of lemon juice to suit your taste buds. You can also substitute lemon juice with white wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar, or add a splash of balsamic vinegar for a different flavor profile.
