RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

» How to make Almond Peas Curry:

  1. Heat the 1 tablespoon oil in a pan.
  2. Add onion, ginger, garlic, and green chili. Sauté for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
  4. Now grind to make a fine paste, and keep aside.
  5. Heat another pan, and add 2 tablespoons oil, and 2 tablespoons margarine/butter to it.
  6. Once hot, add cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf, and cumin seeds. When they crackle add onion, ginger-garlic paste, and sauté till it leaves oil from the sides.
  7. Add ground almonds, milk powder, and mix well. Sauté for 3-4 minutes.
  8. Add tomato puree, tomato ketchup, and sauté for 3 minutes.
  9. Now add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt.
  10. Add cream, milk, and sugar. Mix well and sauté for 2 more minutes.
  11. Add peeled almonds, and green pieces, and milk and bring to a boil.
  12. Cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes on medium-low heat.
  13. Garnish with chopped almonds, and serve hot with any of your favorite flatbreads.

RECIPE NOTES

  1. Use vegan cream, vegan milk powder, and almond milk to make this curry vegan.
