RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

» How to Make Air Fryer Kale Chips:

  1. Remove the kale stems and roughly chop them into 2 inch or bite-sized pieces.
  2. Add chopped kale to a mixing bowl.
  3. Now drizzle kale pieces with olive oil.
  4. Also season them with salt, paprika, ground black pepper, and garlic powder.
  5. Massage well until each piece of kale is evenly coated.
  6. Transfer seasoned kale to your air fryer basket. Make sure they are uncurled and not overlapping too much.
  7. Preheat air fryer and air fry at 200°C/400°F for 3 minutes.
  8. Shake the air fryer basket, this step would ensure that the leaves are evenly distributed and perfectly cooked.
  9. Air fry them again at 200°C/400°F for 1-2 minutes. Kale chips are done when crispy.
  10. Transfer kale chips to a cooling rack in a single layer, and let them cool completely. Enjoy them with your favourite dip.

RECIPE NOTES

  1. To make these Kale Chips, start by steaming your kale. Removing kale stems is very important, make sure not to skip this part. Or else the chips would take longer to cook and the stems would become chewy.
  2. I added olive oil to this recipe. Olive oil adds a nice flavor and crunch to these chips. It also helps in sticking seasonings to the chips.
  3. You can also use avocado oil, coconut oil, or any other oil of your choice.
  4. You can also add freshly chopped garlic and nutritional yeast to this Air Fryer Kale Chips Recipe.
  5. If you don't want to use oil, then you can surely omit it. The kale chips will still come out crisp.
  6. If you have a small air fryer, then air fry the chips in batches.
  7. Make sure to cool chips in a single layer without touching each other. This way they will not steam and will stay crisp for a long time.
  8. When air frying, make sure that Kale edges are brown but not burnt.
  9. These air fried kale chips stay fresh in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  10. In my air fryer, I did not have a problem with kale chips flying around in the air fryer, but if your chips are flying in your air fryer then you can put an air fryer rack over the kale chips. This would prevent them from flying around.
  11. If you like cheesy flavors, then you can sprinkle your chips with grated parmesan cheese.
